Apache Announces Six Exploration Successes In Western Desert
Following on from the Qasr-1X gas condensate discovery, Apache Corporationon 10 July announced six additional discoveries in Egypts Western Desert (MEES, 14 July). Apache drilled the Alexandrite-1X wildcat to 15,300ft in the Jurassic Lower Safa formation in the Matruh concession, which logged 146 net ft of gas and condensate pay in the Upper Safa, Kabrit and Lower Safa formations from 12,112-15,189ft.
