SABICRegisters 51% Drop In Net Profit In 2001
SaudiBasic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has announced a net profit of SR1.782bn($475.2mn) for 2001, compared with SR3.63bn ($896.7mn) the previous year, afall of SR1.85bn, or 51%. Industry and Electricity Minister Hashim Yamani, whois also Chairman of SABIC, said sales in 2001 exceeded SR28.9bn ($7.71bn), an increaseof 9% on 2000, with 27.4mn tons of product marketed, a rise of 28% over theprevious year....
