Syrian Oil Production At 527,000 B/D In 2001, Says EIA
Syrian oil production in 2001 averaged 527,000 b/d, down from 530,000 b/d in 2000 and the 1996 peak of 604,000 b/d, according to the latest country report by the US Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA). However, imports of Iraqi crude – which have been refined domestically, freeing up Syrian crude for export since late 2000 – have distorted the picture...
