UAE 2002 Budget Sets Spending At $6.3Bn
UAE President Shaikh Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan on 4 June issued the state budget law for thecurrent year, 2002, which puts revenue at Dh20.99bn ($5.71bn) against totalexpenditure of Dh23.16bn ($6.30bn), leaving a deficit of Dh 2.17bn ($590mn).The deficit represents a 2.7% decrease on the previous year. Both expenditureand revenue are up slightly this year compared with 2001, by 2.2% and 2.7%respectively.
