Syria Starts LPGShipments To Lebanon
Syria has exported its first shipload of 2,000 tons of liquefiedpetroleum gas (LPG) to Lebanon from the port of Banias, the Damascus daily Al-Thawra reported on 2 June. Syrian exports to Lebanon were worth $363mn in 2001, up 17.5% from $309mn in 2000. Ofthat total, petroleum products accounted for $211mn in 2001, compared to $189mnin 2000, marking a 27% increase in volume to 810,110 tons in 2001 from 636,306tons in 2000.
