Saudi Current Account Registers $14.4Bn Surplus In 2001
The current account of the Saudibalance of payments recorded a surplus of SR54.2bn ($14.4bn) in 2001, accordingto a recent report by the Economics Department of Saudi Arabias NationalCommercial Bank (NCB). The surplus is down 6.1% from the year 2000 surplus ofSR57.7bn ($15.4bn), but remains well above the deficits which havecharacterized the past two decades.
