TCO Fined $70Mn For Environmental Violations Due To Sulfur Storage

A court in Kazakstan has upheld a government fine of $70mn levied against TengizChevroil (TCO), the ChevronTexaco-led operating company for Kazakstans giant onshore Tengiz oilfield, for what the Kazak government considers to be the hazardous storage of 6mn tons of sulfur at the Tengiz site.
