New Chairmen For National And Misr Banks
Egyptian Prime Minister Dr 'Atif 'Ubaid has announced the appointment of Dr Faruq 'Ukda as chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, for three years as of 5 January. Muhammad Kamal al-Din Barkat was appointed chairman of Misr Bank for three years as of 20 December. A spokesman at the Council of Ministers said the appointments were made as part of a national plan to modernize public sector banks.
