Italys Eni Takes Interest InTotalFinaElfs Offshore Balal Field Development
Italys Eni has taken a majorstake in the development of Irans offshore Balal field from operatorTotalFinaElf, but the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Thefield is being developed under a buyback contract with the National Iranian OilCompany (NIOC) by TotalFinaElf, which until the agreement with Eni held an 85%interest, with Canadian company Bow Valley holding 15%.
