Sonatrach Awards First Public E&P Tender
Algerias state-owned Sonatrach on 15 December awarded three blocks in its first public exploration tender. The US firm Anadarko won Block 406b (2,781.2 sq km) in the southeastern Berkine Basin; Russian firms Rosneft and Stroytransgas were awarded Block 245 South (6,412.3 sq km) in the Illizi Basin and the UAEs Gulf Keystone Petroleum won Block 126 (8,316.8 sq km) in the eastern region of Constantine.
