The edition of MEES dated 23 April 2001 contains a detailed article on Algeria and quotes Sonatrachs official Annual Statistical Report, 2000. Reference is made to official data showing that Algerian crude oil production averaged 891,000 b/d, of which 695,000 b/d came from wholly owned Sonatrach fields and 196,000 b/d from joint ventures with foreign companies.
