And Healthy 2000 Results
The year 2000 saw a return to solid profit growth following more modest rises in 1999 after the turbulent back-end of the global financial crisis (MEES, 21 August 2000). The sector reported an average increase of 35.7% for the nine banks concerned (see Table below).
