The Political Scene

The George W Bush Administration is moving slowly towards increasing diplomatic involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, in the wake of Israeli air strikes against Palestinian towns and a Palestinian suicide bomb in Netanyah; and of the Mitchell Committees report on suggested ways and means of stopping the violence and reopening a dialogue between the two sides.
