Saaidi Takes Over At Samir
Moroccos former privatization minister Abderrahmane Saaidi was appointed on 3 July to the post of chairman of Moroccos sole oil refiner Samir, replacing Abd Al-Rafi Manjur, according to a Reuters report. Mr Saaidi was closely involved in the sale of a majority stake in Samir, which operates the 125,000 b/d Mohammedia refinery and the 25,000 b/d Sidi Kacem plant, to Saudi-owned Corral Petroleum in 1997 (MEES, 12 July 1997).
