BP Sees 2000 Oil ConsumptionConstrained By High Prices

Oil prices rose dramatically in 2000, averaging 58%higher than in 1999 at $28.98/B for Dated Brent crude, according to BP in its BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2001,published on 27 June. BP says that last years average crude price was thehighest since 1983 and was a major factor behind a growth in oil consumption ofonly 1%, from an average of 73.315mn b/d in 1999 to 73.905mn b/d (see Table 1...
