Bush Up Against Deadline To SignBill Extending ILSA For Five Years
President Bush was expected latelast week to sign into law a bill passed by the Senate and the House callingfor an extension of the Iran-Libya Sanctions Act (ILSA) for a further fiveyears. ILSA was scheduled to expire on 5 August, and Mr Bush was presented withthe bill for signature so that it could become law before Congress closed atthe end of the week for the summer recess.
