Jordanian Parliament Endorses 2000 State Budget
Following three days of debate, the Jordanian Parliament on 5 January approved the 2000 draft budget by 51 votes to 12. The Upper House is expected to approve the JD2.21bn ($3.11bn) budget shortly and pass the 2000 budget law.
The budgets target is to increase the countrys growth rate from 2% in 1999 to between 3.5 and 4% in 2000. The budget also envisages a decrease in Jordans deficit, excluding foreign aid,...
