Azerbaijan Halts Socars Exports As Country Confronts Energy Crisis
An energy crisis brought about by a lack of fuel for power generation has prompted Azerbaijan to suspend its crude oil exports to Novorossysk and impose rationing of electricity supplies. The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (Socar) suspended shipments in mid-January in order to cope with the crisis. Socars 2000 schedule calls for crude shipments of some 10,000 tons/day...
