Deputies Insist On Legislation For Project Kuwait Contracts
At the end of their third and final debate on Project Kuwait on 29 February, 30 members of the National Assembly (parliament) out of the 45 present voted for a resolution aimed at preventing the government from signing contracts with international oil companies (IOCs) before new legislation was passed. Under Project Kuwait, IOCs would be awarded contracts to develop the countrys northern oilfields....
