UN Secretary-Generals Report Paves The Way For Security Council Debate On Iraqi Sanctions
On 10 March UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan submitted a detailed report to the Security Council "on the progress made in meeting the humanitarian needs of the Iraqi people and on the revenues necessary to meet those needs." The basis for Mr Annans report is the new policy towards Iraq defined in resolution 1284, which removes the $5.26bn financial ceiling on oil exports...
