The Political Scene
To say that the US-Syrian summit in Geneva was less than a success would probably be something of an understatement, since the failure of the meeting cast a shadow over the future of negotiations on the Syrian track and even raised the possibility that Syria and Israel might not be able to make peace in the context of the current peace process (and if not now, when?). It also means that Israel is going to have to withdraw from south Lebanon...
