OKIOC Confirms Oil Discovery In Offshore Kashagan Structure
The Offshore Kazakstan International Operating Company (OKIOC) announced on 24 July that it had discovered oil at its Kashagan East-1 well. A press release issued by the consortium said the discovery, the first on the Kazakstan shelf, encountered an oil-bearing interval in the Palaeozoic Carbonates below 4,000ms.
