Construction Of Ankaras New Gas-Fired Power Station Begins
Baymina Enerji AS, a Turkish-UK joint venture, announced on 16 October that construction of a $465mn 770mw gas-fired power plant located 40 km southwest of Ankara has started. The plant, which will use GE 9FA gas turbines to produce 6.2bn kwh of electricity a year, is being constructed on a build-own-operate model (BOO) and will take 26 months to complete.
