Turkey Faces Power Deficit Of 3.1Bn KWH In 2001
Turkeys Minister of Energy Cumhur Ersumer told a parliamentary commission on 21 November that the country faces a power deficit of 3.1bn kWh during 2001, due in part to a drought in catchment areas for hydroelectric dams which has reduced hydroelectric power generation to a minimum. Mr Ersumer said that Turkeys projected power demand would reach 139.7bn kWh during 2001, an 8.3% increase over projected demand...
