US Department Of Energy Expects World Oil Demand To Rise More Than 50% By 2020
The US Department of Energy (DoE) forecasts that world oil demand will increase from an average of 75.5mn b/d in 1999 to 117.4mn b/d in 2020. The DoEs Energy Information Administration (EIA) released reference case forecasts from its Annual Energy Outlook 2001 on 28 November, saying that this projected demand for 2020 is greater than the 112.4mn b/d predicted in its annual outlook...
