Iraq Rejects UK/Dutch Proposal
The Security Council remains deadlocked over a new Iraqpolicy with no end in sight to the present debate. Three draft resolutions havebeen tabled by the UK/Netherlands, Russia and France, with the UK/Dutch draftemerging as the sole negotiating text, despite the fact that it is totallyrejected by Iraq. The US, meanwhile, continues to insist on full compliance byIraq before the suspension of sanctions can be even considered.
