Security Council Passes Iraq Omnibus Resolution; France,Russia And China Abstain But Oil Exports Resume On Schedule

The Security Council on 17 December, after months of arduousnegotiations, finally passed the UKs omnibus resolution on Iraq whichenvisages the setting up of a new UN weapons inspection team and could lead tothe suspension of sanctions.
