Sidi Kerir Project Awarded But Financing Still To BeDecided
The Egyptian Government earlier this month awarded its first BOT(Build-Operate-Transfer) scheme in the power sector to International Generating Company(Intergen), owned 50-50% by Bechtel of the US and Royal Dutch/Shell Group (MEES, 16February). Intergen was the lowest bidder, quoting a supply price of electricity to thegovernment of 2.6 cents/kilowatt hour. The cost of the project is still unknown but...
