Khamenei Backs Ahmadinejads Push To Remove Subsidies
Irans Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told a gathering of Majlis deputies on 30 August that the parliament should increase the pace of reforms introduced by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to phase out state subsidies on fuels, electricity and food, which cost Iran around $100bn/year.
