Oman Slashes Actual Budget Deficit In 1997
Oman's actual budget deficit in 1997 fell to OR22mn ($57mn) from a projected budgetdeficit of OR263mn ($683mn) as a result of higher oil revenue, according to a reportpublished by the Omani Ministry of Economy. Oil revenue in 1997 was estimated at OR1,502mn($3,901mn), but actual revenue for the year was higher at OR1,748mn ($4,540mn).
