Anadarko Announces Significant Oil Discovery In Berkine Basin
The group composed of the US firm Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (operator, 50%), Lasmo (25%)and Maersk (25%) has made a significant oil and gas discovery in the Berkine Basin ineastern Algeria. According to a statement issued by Anadarko on 31 March, test resultsfrom exploration well El Merk North No. 1 (EMN-1) produced over 21,000 b/d of oil, thehighest flow rate ever by the partners in the country....
