UN Draws Grim Picture Of Iraqi Oil Industry; Exports To Rise VerySlowly
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan recommended on 15 April that Iraq should be allowed toimport $300mn worth of spare parts and equipment to rehabilitate its oil infrastructure,although this sum will not allow Iraq to export more than $3bn worth of oil during thenext 180-day phase of the oil-for-food program (beginning in June and ending in December)because of the "lamentable" state of the oil...
