NIC Plans New Propylene Project
The National Industrialization Company (NIC) of Saudi Arabia is planning to set up a400,000 ton/year propylene plant in Jubail with an estimated cost of $300mn, according toNIC's General Manager, Mr. Muayyid al-Qurtas. Preliminary work on the project is scheduledto start later this year and start up is expected in 2001. NIC was established in 1985 andis capitalized at SR600mn ($160mn).
