Barring last minute snags relating to an alleged American pledge tofree convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, as MEES goes to press it looks as if Israeland the Palestinians will sign an interim agreement negotiated over eight arduous days at Wye Plantation near Washington. Syria and Turkey have agreed on measures to defuse theirconfrontation over the formers alleged support for guerrillas of the KurdistanWorkers Party.
