Egypt's Foreign Debt Falls To $30Bn AtEnd-1996
The Egyptian Minister of Economy and International Cooperation, Ms. Nawal Tatawi,has said that Egypt's foreign debt fell from $31.8bn in December 1995 to $30bnin December 1996 and that her country's foreign currency reserves stood at$19.1bn by end-December 1996. $24.1bn of the debt in December 1996 was owed tothe Paris Club.
