Palestinian President Mahmud 'Abbas is resisting pressure to move to direct talks with Israel before there is progress in indirect negotiations via the Americans. If the UN tribunal indicts members of Hizbollah for the 2005 assassination of Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri, it could spell trouble for Lebanon's coalition government.
