Arco Announces Oil Discovery In Ghadames Basin
The US firm Arco announced on 21 July that it has drilled and tested an explorationwell on the Hassi Bir Rekaiz Block in Algeria's Ghadames Basin. The Semhari-1 well wasdrilled to a total depth of 4,065ms. (13,337 ft.) approximately 120 kms. northeast ofHassi Messaoud. The well tested oil at a cumulative rate of 1,539 b/d from two zones.
