Iran's Foreign Debt Continues To Decline
According to the latest issue of Economic Trends, the quarterly bulletin of theCentral Bank of Iran, total foreign debt at the end of 1375 (which ended on 20 March 1997)stood at $16,835mn - $4,557mn in short-term debt and $12,278mn in medium- and long-termdebt - down from $18,835mn on 20 December 1996. Iran also had $15.8bn in contingentobligations such as opened letters of credit not yet consigned and future interest....
