Sudan Raises Domestic Fuel Prices
On 10 October the Sudanese Government announced increases of between 12% and 25% in domestic fuel prices as a result of the recent fall of some 50% in the value of the Sudanese pound. The price of gasoline was increased by 15.4% from S1,300 to S1,500 per gallon ($1.73 to $2.00 at the current official rate of $1 = S750.00), and the price of diesel oil by 25% from S600 to S750 per gallon ($0.80 to $1.00).
