Esso Makes Oil Discovery In South Hurghada Tract

Egyptian Oil Minister Hamdi al-Banbi announced on 5 December that Esso has made a new oil discovery in the South Hurghada tract in Egypt's Eastern Desert. The discovery well, Wadi al-Sahl-2, encountered a 120-ft. pay zone at a depth of about 6,300 ft. On initial tests, the well flowed at a rate of 3,920 b/d of 32ｰ API crude oil.
