Iran And Kazakstan Sign Oil Swap Deal
Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Kazakstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed an oil swap agreement in Tehran on 11 May during an official state visit by the Kazak president. Under the terms of the agreement, Kazakstan will ship an initial 2mn tons/year (40,000 b/d) from its Caspian Sea port of Aktau to northern Iran.
