The following preliminary report is the economic section of a larger report on the effects of the UN sanctions on Iraq which is being prepared by the US-based Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR). The final report, based on the findings of health and economic teams which visited Iraq, is due to be published in two weeks' time.
