Cepsa Starts Production From Algeria At 15,000 B/D
MEES is reliably informed that the Spanish firm Compania Espanola de Petroleos (Cepsa) started production from Algeria in early May at an initial rate of 15,000 B/D from the Rhourde Yacoub Block 406a. Sonatrach signed a joint venture agreement with Cepsa in February 1988 for the 1,500 sq. km. block in the Eastern Erg in southeast Algeria.
