According to the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Dr. Mohsen Nourbakhsh, Iran currently has no foreign debt problems. He recently stated that between 1371 (year to March 1993) and the end of 1374 (year to March 1996) Iran repaid $8.6bn of its debts without rescheduling, and a further $6.8bn of rescheduled debt had been paid off.
