Speedy Iraqi Recognition Of Kuwait Could Provoke Security Council Split OnLifting Of Sanctions
The public split among the permanent members of the Security Council widenedfurther last week on the crucial issue as to whether or not the Iraqi sanctionsshould be lifted so long as President Saddam Husain remains in power. The issueis expected to flare up again in mid-November when the Security Council holdsits regular bimonthly review of the sanctions.
