US Oil Imports Exceeded 50% of Consumption In 1994
For the first time, US oil imports in 1994 topped 50% of all the petroleumused in the United States, according to a report issued by the AmericanPetroleum Institute (API). Imports of crude oil and petroleum products in 1994averaged 8.894mn b/d, an increase of 3.4% over 1993. Total imports amounted to50.4% of domestic deliveries for the year, up slightly from 1993's previous highof 49.9%.
