US Navy Intercepts Three Vessels Carrying Iraqi Oil and Dates
The US Navy has intercepted three more small ships in the Gulf suspected ofviolating the UN sanctions against Iraq. The three boats, two carrying dates andone carrying gas oil, were intercepted in the northern Gulf between 10 and 17February. A US Navy spokesman in the region said that the UAE-flagged tug Shamiawas towing the barge Fardis 2 with 800 tons of gas oil when it was interceptedon 17...
