Fact Sheet Issued by US State Department on Sanctions against Iran
President Clinton announced April 30, 1995, his intention to imposeadditional sanctions against Iran. He is expected to sign an Executive Orderimplementing his decision the week of May 1. In general terms the ExecutiveOrder will:
- Prohibit trade, including overseas trade in Iranian oil.
- Prohibit US investment in Iran.
Imports into the US from Iran and exports of sensitive goods are alreadyprohibited....
