Qatar DeniesRumored Israel-Qatar Gas Project
Qatar has issuedan official denial of widespread rumors of an impending gas supply deal betweenit and Israel. The rumors gathered strength last week when Israeli EnergyMinister Moshe Shahal publicly stated on 26 October that a 25-year gas supplycontract would be signed between Israel and an unnamed Gulf emirate - generallyassumed to refer to Qatar - within the next two weeks.
