Egypt Adds2,500 Megawatts To Generating Capacity
Egypt, facing asteep rise in electricity demand, will increase capacity by building three powerstations and linking up with Middle East power networks, Egyptian Electricityand Energy Minister Mahir Abaza said on 31 January. The new power plants, whichwill add 2,500 megawatts (MWs) to the country's current 12,000-MW generatingcapacity, aim to counter an annual increase of more than 7% in electricitydemand....
